Our Favourite Beaches

Here are a few of our favourites that we recommend that you visit on your trip to Harris.

Luskentyre

One of the biggest and most well known beaches in Harris. Take the windy road down to the end of the Luskentyre road and you come across a car park to the right of the main cemetery in Harris. It is just a short walk from there onto the beach itself.

Seilebost

This is one of the most pictured beaches from ‘the viewpoint’. It is mistaken for Luskentyre sometimes by photographers due to its close proximity to Luskentye but Seilebost is an amazing beach that is worth a visit. Take the road down to the old school and take a short walk along the machair to get to the beach.

Hushinish

Just a 20 minute drive down the road from Bunavoneader is Huisinish beach. It is quite the drive but take your time and use the passing places and you will love it and enjoy the views on the way. Right at the end of the road you will find this lovely small beach. If you are feeling fit you can walk over the other side to the pier to see the Island of Scarp across the water. If you are feeling even fitter why not walk over the coastline to the peaceful sandy beach of Crabhadail. You will not be disappointed.

Scarista

This is another big and beautiful beach. Sometimes overlooked as it is not as easy to get onto but there is some parking at the side of the road and after a short walk you will get you there. This beach sits beside the Isle of Harris golf club – what a view when playing 9 holes.
